I started making little hats for my students (as Christmas presents) this past weekend. The kids became interested and before I knew it they each had a needle, loom and ball of yarn. They decided that they would make their hats for dad to take to the hospital for the sick little kids. Hey, it's cheap entertainment... and their hands are occupied (and can't hurt each other).

Lory - we have those exact hoops and my girls love making the hats! How cool is that? I love having them busy doing something "productive".
